The Lab Tests Online UK team recently spent a successful week in Glasgow at EuroMedLab 2005, the 16th European Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine. Lab Tests Online was on show for over 4000 delegates and exhibition visitors. Amongst those who took the time to study the site was Catherine Stihler, Labour MEP for Scotland (pictured above with Dr Ian Godber of Lab Tests Online UK). During her speech in which she opened the congress exhibition, Mrs Stihler commented on huge number of important clinical decisions that are made by doctors on the basis of laboratory results.
During the congress, the team behind Lab Tests Online UK was awarded the Association for Clinical Biochemistry (ACB) President's Shield, to mark an outstanding contribution to the ACB activities. Mike Hallworth, Chairman of Lab Tests Online UK received the award from Prof Chris Price, ACB President (pictured above).
Delegates were also treated to an update on the use of the site from Mike Hallworth and James McGuire. Mike pointed out that the site was now attracting over 60 000 visitors per month, and had been widely praised by organizations representing both patients and health professionals. Most of the visitors reaching the site found it through search engines such as Google, but there were also referrals from
NHSDirect Online.
