The Human Genetics Commission is the UK Government's advisory body on new developments in human genetics and how they impact on individuals. In a report published on 4 December 2007 it expressed concern that, in the wrong circumstances, genetic tests sold directly to the public could do more harm than good and that many are a waste of money. The Commission called for much tougher regulation. To read the views of Commission members and a summary of the report "More Genes Direct" with a link to the report itself, click
