1. What other tests might my doctor do to check for cystic fibrosis? Your doctor may order newborn immunoreactive trypsin testing (IRT), sweat chloride testing, and/or CF gene mutation testing.



2. What other laboratory tests may be done if I or my child has a negative trypsin test? Your doctor may order a stool test for faecal fat or a blood test for amylase or lipase to look at other aspects of pancreas and digestive function.
